This is brilliant. As a SEND parent & nurse I really welcome this! I also urge we consider how digital transformation can affect the services neurodivergent people access. The movement to remote support needs to ensure that staff have the skills to understand the communication needs of autistic ppl

I completely agree - remote consultations have their place, but their use certainly needs to be carefully considered, especially for CYP and SEND.

100%. A lot of pathways are opting for digital first approaches. Services aren’t using an inclusion/exclusion criteria to vet appropriateness thought. But there is also evidence that going digital is actually beneficial for those who are carers & w. disabilities in some cases (self-referral)

Totally agree, definitely should be considered during any implementation and any new processes that are designed, something that doesn’t happen often enough currently.

Agreed. The biggest challenge is when it comes to scaling. Typically there is a small digital team onboarding several different services, who onboard the clinical teams. There is often a loss of control when it gets filtered down which is why staff need to question.
