I think they’re scared of appearing overtly partisan by purging the senior ranks but I don’t doubt it should be done (Leveson II too)

People like Robbie Gibb are political operatives (May’s’ director of comms & GB News on his CV), Tim Davie was the Tory candidate for Hammersmith & Fulham, etc, etc

I think they should just go for them - the Mail, Telegraph, Sun, etc, are never going to be particularly Labour aligned (not that I think we should have politically aligned media tbh) - so just drop the pretence entirely?

I want a regulator with sharp teeth, no more voluntary codes of conduct, and a recognised accreditation for anyone describing themselves as a journalist. I know of no other profession that doesn’t accredit its people. The BBC needs cleaning out root and branch.
