How are SO many people buying? Is this pent up demand from years of overpriced GPUs? People just sitting out longer and longer bc prices/performance don't feel worth it?
Maybe the gaming community has just grown that much?
Probably a bit of all of that. I admit I was originally thinking "People are so glued to Nvidia that they'll ignore the 9070 cards" but I think after the issues with the 40 AND 50 series people have had enough and are giving AMD a chance
Honestly I'm starting to get incredibly sour with AMD. If they want to only stock Microcenter and tell everyone who doesn't live near one that they're unwelcome to be an AMD customer, then fine. My next build will be Intel and Nvidia (maybe Intel and Intel?).
Don't think it's that they're only stocking micro center. I think it's just because there is so much demand with Nvidia botching their launch ontop of the regular AMD buyers making it seem so bad. I've seen that many online retailers will be getting weekly restocks at the very least.
I guess we'll see what the future brings for online stock. For now, we had yet another disastrous paper fake MSRP launch where only Microcenter customers seem to be happy.
For prices in Europe you can check https://geizhals.eu/ for a quick reference. It's a meta-search for various online retialers in Germany, Austria, GB and Poland.

AMD has really shown that they can be as scummy as Nvidia
