New cars in Europe are getting 1 cm wider every two years. T&E says the trend will continue due to the rising sales of SUVs unless lawmakers take action.
50 % of new cars sold are already too wide for the minimum on-street parking space in many countries.

My car is 1.7 cm wider than the previous model (the previous model was produced from 2014 till 2023).
The previous model was very wide when it first came out, but looked small last year. This new one is not only wider, but also longer (by 14 cm).
Wider lanes and parking spaces! 🤪🤡

Here in the North we get the added benefit of terrible air quality primarily due to cars/motorbikes.
