If they are that hard done by, how can they afford to take time off from the farms? Plus if they were environmentalists many would be facing 7 year jail sentences by now.

But that very low duty applies only if the vehicle is being used for agricultural purposes. Was today an agricultural purpose? Were HMRC out there dipping tanks for red diesel today?
