Ok. Imagine you'd have to build a cloud infrastructure that needs to work independently of U.S. companies. From bare meral to cloud native and office environment, what would your tech stack look like?

@andreasdotorg I think you need to state requirements much more detailed. Further down you wrote „level 1: no US law enforcement interference“, which makes it quite doable even with non-OSS parts, as long as you are qualified enough to keep them out and do not leak telemetry.
As you know, these […]
On an infrastrucure level I preach to the government that we must to be able to build our own clouds. #Kubernetes, https://social.osb-alliance.de/@SCS, #proxmox or #opennebula
@andreasdotorg clearly showing my bias: I don't worry about the software.
The issue is, that there is virtually no hardware that isn't either from the US or from China.
And building your cloud infrastructure on Samsung SOCs isn't really feasible.

After that it becomes tricky, but to some extent also doable. The biggest (but not only) challenge is migrating people off of what they are used to.
BTW: I guess every Open Source software is already US-contaminated cause of GitHub…?
