Being transgender in the USA is being the victim of a hate crime and then one’s brutal murder the punchline of a “joke” broadcast on national television, & never apologised for, not even in a dedicated segment in the 50th anniversary special acknowledging “jokes that aged poorly”
Being transgender in the USA is knowing that the first Trump administration had a test balloon EO for years exempting EMS be exempt from providing legally mandated lifesaving healthcare solely to trans people, and no-one but trans people ever said word one about it, except “you’re overreacting”
Being transgender in the USA is commenting that there are many places in the USA where it is illegal to be transgender, but nowhere in America is it illegal to be a Nazi, and being criminally harassed & threatened for months and years by hundreds of Nazis & transphobes over this
Being transgender in the USA is repeating “These neoNazi transphobes are a real danger to us and to everyone else, who will do X, Y, then Z; they planned for this” for a decade and then watching people who get paid $$$$$$ a year to know this stuff act surprised AND throw us under the bus
Being transgender in the USA means dying early of trauma stress related disorders because one major political party knows and exploits this as a desired goal, and the other lost its way sometime in 2007, I guess, maybe
Being transgender in the USA is pretty soon going to become an international humanitarian crisis if it isn’t already, one which will have no remediation for, because the US **was** the country sheltering GNC political refugees and now will be the one genociding us
thought i was having a heart attack in november (the hospital also thought this) the EMTs didnt give me oxygen. start an iv. or even hurry. i had to ask them to go while we sat in the ambulance and they talked about which hospital to bring me to. (they took me to the farther away one).
