The death of Tasha so early in the series was unfortunate, but every time she appears later in the series, even if it's just as a hologram, it makes quite an impact.

The vessel registry number is an arbitrary identifier. It imitates real US naval numbering, but it's definitely different. Also a weird tradition to reuse NCC-1701 for starships named Enterprise, especially because the first one was NX-01.
