the reason I find @bsky.app compelling isn't b/c of american politics (I block ads + also mute election keywords)
❌ rage-baiting is unhealthy
❌ twitter decisions seem driven by ego
❌ cool people I want to hear from are getting hurt & burnt out there
❌ monetisation of views twists good people

This morning I had another non-political take for the same on LI: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7259817432398139392/
That’s not free speech.
That is a central plank of totalitarianism.
Hence, it became a propaganda arm for all that he used to curb anti-Trump sentiment. All very ‘1984’. All very wrong. Hence, I jumped ship
> interesting that you think bluesky feels 'left'
> I think it's likely an artifact of who you're following - the feed is much more tailored to you and I regard bluesky as neutral in-and-of itself - it doesn't have ads or artificially promote certain accounts
I'm over the moon that people have moved to Bsky as it reminds me of my dev feed in the early days of Twitter.
I'm in my happy place.
I'm _definitely_ not trying to say that politics doesn't matter.
but that bluesky is compelling even with politics aside.
bsky is exactly what Twitter used to be - it's a place where I can actually engage with smart people, and finally, once again - see links to actual blog posts instead of "Read more 🧵".
No follower craze, no almighty algorithm - just people being people.
