This is good. It is simply NOT SUFFICIENT to be maximally alarmed at all times. In fact, it's counterproductve. In order to build a consensus that something is wrong, we have to be clear-eyed about basic facts.

Im not reading a bunch of excuses why we shouldnt take Trump's threats seriously when he means every threat he has made thus far. None of it is a distraction.

Okay. Just hope it's clear I'm not saying it's a "distraction" in the sense of "they're trying to distract you from [whatever}!" That's midwit conspiracy bullshit. I'm saying that the guy's a belligerent fool who says a lot of things. We need to evaluate threats like adults, not be credulous.

Like, sure I GUESS he "means it" about this "51st state" stuff. It seems to be an idea he recently got in his head. And it's reckless and irresponsible to talk that way about an ally. To talk that way TO an ally. Canada is also not becoming a state. That's stupid. That's not how it works.

Trump believes that's possible because HE is stupid. We are not. We have to focus on alerting people (who somehow still don't know!) that our president is unfit. And on stopping the real harm his people are doing right now.
