I think you're right, Mike. You can't un-invent social media. The challenge is to harness its benefits and promote responsible use. Meanwhile, the government should bring in top IT experts to monitor and take down damaging content.

Alcohol isn’t allowed to be purchased by kids but it’s available in shops & restaurants where kids go. We just have to be creative and bold about how we help protect kids from using it.
We did. But we knew it was a ‘grown up thing’ that we weren’t supposed to have so most of us sneaked a bit now and then 😝 or had a glass on a special occasion and pretended we were drunk rather than sitting in the living room with the family swigging from a bottle like it was an everyday thing.
Then like now kids get drunk, smoke do drugs, all to excess. And they are physical costly items. Do you think that they wouldn't find away around any restrictions, after all they have lived their whole lives in the tech. age.
I think smart grown-ups and tech innovators backed by savvy legislation will come up with an effective way to protect the vast majority of kids and I expect society in general will agree it’s a positive move. Aiming for 100% success isn’t realistic, but it’s not a reason not to do anything either.

I have no answer to the problem.
