They can add the regulation, but if the platforms isn't implementing the tech necessary, it'll just be "we're having talks with the tech giants", and nothing will come of it.
Social media is a toxic place for adults let alone children. I am for protecting children but I fear any ban would be toothless as kids that really want to engage on platforms will find a way to do so without permission.
This is not a popular opinion, but I think kids on social media isn't the problem. It is the adults targeting kids with propaganda and worse that is the real issue.
It's not the kids themselves that's the problem, true, but it's anyone who's been exposed to the bad and thinks it's "cool". And that does include kids as part of the problem.
