Increases in defense spending by ANY country typically means money into the pockets of US arms manufacturers and given the US's recent Russian first stance, any pressure from the US for increased spending has to be seen as a money grab.

The number of times I think of a European weapons manufacturers before I think of Lockheed Martin or RTX is zero.

The US arms industry is larger than the rest of the world combined and yes that includes Russia and China.

The US would not send aid (weapons) if that money were going elsewhere.
