I bet India ALSO got a shiny number because of Second Lady Usha Vance- whether or not she meant to pull for India or not (!trade calc notwithstanding!).
James Surowiecki figured how the official tables' 1st column # s were calced (then halved for final tariffs).
Formula is: (2024 trade deficit absolute value)÷(2024 total imports)=(1st column #)
Russia should have a ~42% tariff but was left off the list. Iran & syria are listed despite sanctions.
