We are so intertwined with global supply that this could be difficult as in every chain I suspect there are problems. Greed is everywhere. However we should never stop to protect others from being exploited.
Defending that the UK should also stop importing oil from those nations is one thing, but imposing that as a condition to stop feeding forced labour is absolutely ridiculous.
What it's wrong with me is actually wanting to get every single win possible in favour of human rights to the point that people like you who accept a few human rights violations just to not look like hypocrites completely disgust me.
Forced labour is not fine in any occasion. Recheck your morals.
Fossil fuels are awful for the planet. It's even worse when buying them funds autocratic nations like Saudi Arabia or Russia. That does not make forced labour of a persecuted religious and cultural minority employed to build green infrastructure ever OK. There is no "as long" that justifies slavery.
My post does not justify slavery, it calls out the useful idiots who are happy to play along with the fossil fuel types when they call out human rights abuses elsewhere.
