I sincerely hope that demographics centric politics/"demographics is destiny" gets thrown into the dustbin of history with haste. Clinton centered her campaign around white feminism only to have white women overwhelmingly vote for Trump. Youths and Hispanics were Bernie's voting base in both campaigns only to turn out for Trump in 2024. Black voters were the most reliable democratic voter base until they weren't in 2024.

Universalism must be put first if we're to push past the white supremacy and fascism of Musk and Trump. Immigration reform and migrant rights over Latino advocacy. Universal healthcare over reproductive rights. Free college tuition over affirmative action. Criminal justice reform over BLM.

Dems in 2024 bet hard on reproductive rights and lost because it didn't motivate women enough to vote for them or vote at all. Inflation was what motivated voters across the country to vote for Trump or not vote at all. Kamala walked back on grocery price control when the donors said no.

Political and radical movements would do better by abandoning intersectionality altogether. It was used by the Dems to pit voters against Bernie and collectivism and now it's being used by Trump and Musk to pit Blacks and Latinos against gays, Jews, women, and each other. No war but the class war.
