It's not that diversity, equity, and inclusion aren't important. It's when it became DEI© that it became bad because it turned into HR. Nobody like HR because they're on the side of management and ownership over workers. Bernie's campaign was the antethisis of it all and it crashed hard for it.

Bernie voters were "bros" and "anti-black" and "anti-women". "Black people ain't having no Bernie" and "Bernie voters are sexist" became attacks that the campaign couldn't, or wouldn't, overcome since they weren't willing to become fully independent of the Democratic party and the status quo.

Funny how Trump's voter share among young white men, Latino, and Black voters increased in 2024. Expecting these disparate groups to unify in the name of "intersectionality" and "social justice" while ignoring or minimizing material needs turned to resentment and that's where Trump moved in.

Trump was able to turn these groups on each other because the Harris campaign walked back all of its campaign platforms to address issues like grocery prices or inflation because the donors told them not to. They lost because to quote Bill Clinton, "It's the Economy, stupid"

Bernie told the NYT editorial board during the 2020 campaign in the leadup to their endorsement that when people's material needs are unaddressed and neglected by the state you have a situation like 1930s Germany where the Nazi party stepped in to blame everything on the Jews. Bernie was right.

Who knows what will come about Bernie's anti-oligarch campaign but he was right to call out inclusivity. I still expect Black voters to be his main opposition and various Black Judases like Clyburn, Obama, and others to get the knives sharpened. I've seen this movie before, I know how it ends.
