It continually amazes me that so many folks at the UC aren’t unionized. Most of the admin staff on our campus isn’t. And their paycheck shows this quite well.

Yes, I have no clue how admins survive at all at UCLA. It can often be thankless and tough work. I worked as an office temp at UW-Madison before library school and ran the paperwork for three tenure-track hires. Vital work to a department's success, but of course it's "just" an office job.
