Just finished Station Eleven, a book about a killer virus that only spares arts & humanities majors. Millions of survivors but no one knows where electricity comes from or how to make more of it, so they walk around performing Shakespeare and dying.

From what I’ve read about the book, the TV adaptation was a lot less vicious. Frankly, I’m good with that because I’m deeply weary of post-apocalypse porn; it seems to exist to profit off a creepy desire some people have to live in a world where “circumstance” justifies killing people.
I considered reading it after watching the show. Learning about the differences between them put me off the book because things I liked about the show in specific were things they changed dramatically from the book.
