We celebrate each Librarian fighting the Good Fight for the First Amendment!
Stay strong / we are with you. Although it may seem a solo fight, speak out & know in your heart, you have millions standing beside you as you speak up & fight these oppressive forces.
Books give us a shared context to talk about things. Look at how often people quote 1984. It's a book a lot of us read in school, and now it makes up part of a shared language that describes dystopian control and manipulation of language and thought. And that's just one book.
I’ve had these conversations with my family, and I always tell them I WANT to be wrong. Then I ask them, but what if I’m not? Do you want to be wrong? Because if you’re wrong our freedom is disappearing. If I’m wrong I’m just fear mongering.
