I love your photos and your depiction of disappearing peoples and ways of life. Highly recommend Timothy Egan's gripping biography of Native American Indian photographer Edward Curtis, Short Nights of the Shadow Capture, and the Taschen Press compact volume containing all of the Curtis portfolios
Hello, I am just beginning to understand the wonder of your work. I see documentary, commentary, art, respect, fear and inspiration in your images. In a very tangental way, I am also working with a vanishing (or at least greatly changing) culture - that of books and libraries.
The feeling is mutual.🙏 I am Canadian and seething right now over Trump. I said I would not get involved in politics on this site but I am afraid I may break my promise.😡
Your bio: I feel this is also micro true when any elderly person passes from this world. They know of places and things that have vanished from the face of the earth. It is a terrible loss to collective humanity. That is why archivists using film, photos, sound and writing are so important!🙏
I think of my maternal Grandfather. Born of Prussian parents, he saw Kaiser Wilhelm in a 1894 parade that his dad took him to. He was 4 or 5. Then the family came to the US (his dad felt correctly) that Germany was trigger crazy for war against Great Britain.
Your photos - all of them! - are an absolute cultural treasure. And on another note, if you enjoy reading about other cultures, I would highly recommend the book ‘A Death in the Rainforest’ by Don Kulick.
I love your work. You're photos are beautiful, monumental, perfect and historic and so important as we oft boken humans struggle to hold on to our shared humanity. thank you.
You're way different artist - i'm liking your stories to the depth of my mind and heart. Make me your brand-manager for this region. I will collect good stories for you, trust me.
OT, but a Mutual needs help?:

You’ve crossed deserts: have you any sm./bsky-size📸of just rolling, reddish sand dunes-no ppl/vehicles? i.e.Oman?
We🔍, can’t find 1 for a post. If so&you’d lend, we’d credit You obvs!🙏
TY!🙏 Didn’t have enough letters to say: whatever we do, we’ll also make it clear that it’s an Edited version of Your original! Feel that’s v.important. What’s ironic is we’ve tried to find📸of a place we drove thru, but couldn’t stop to📸. Were living in UAE, passing thru Oman. Dunes inspired poem.❤️🙏
Dear K, I know this is a little “off-piste” fr/what you do, but when I saw this, you were the 1st person that came to mind. I thought you might find it interesting. If you do, it’s easier to read using the Reader option-no ads that way but you may lose pic. ~tam
You post so many extraordinary photos, seem to have been to all the furthest & most remote places in the world. Your work-both by documenting & educating- is amazing.
Forgive me for sometimes inundating you w/Likes. I lose track :somehow I got dzns of Flwrs (hunh🫣?) & am lost.😟
But You’re awesome.
I may not repost (I’m not sure I’ve ever reposted anything, tbh, apart fr/pic-list of L.A wildfire help charities fr/Drennon).
But I do appreciate what you’re trying to do, have done & continue to do. It’s remarkable & important. I may not understand the unusual cultures, but IK what you do matters.
