Note that by "not commonly used outside of Magic", I mean that these words are not in the top 100,000 most-frequently used in the English language corpus.
If someone says "deathtouch" to you, either out loud or by text, I recommend not touching them.
People seem to prefer the gendered form of this word ๐งโโ๏ธ๐งโโ๏ธ
This definitely could see more use in common parlance; it's got some nice metaphor potential.
I'm guessing this is at least partially a function of the plural. "permanent" is pretty high up on the list, actually. But if you hear someone pluralizing it, they're probably a Magic player.
I'm not surprised that this isn't common in the English language corpus. I *am* a little surprised that it's so high on this list, in terms of frequency within Magic.
