Stay away from commentary that AfD and the Linke are equally extreme and together(?) a “blocking” coalition. The former has proven to be an anti-democratic force, full stop. The latter has a perfectly lawful agenda and we need to learn more about it in its current form. - ThreadSky

There are no 'fool proof' parties and every ideology can go astray. There are 'fool proof' individuals who manage to keep their back straight, but not everyone is capable of doing that.

The problem with that take is that it misses the fact that the party sticking to their values has never been in power and did not need to compromise.

To vote a party into government and then be disappointed that they did compromise on some of their values is an interesting case of schizophrenia.
