I like the thinking! But reality is we can’t predict the future based on things past because of climate change. The people wanting our resources are only going to increase. We need both a climate strategy and a deeper strategy to protect our resources.

1 of the only things Harper wanted to do that I agreed with was beef up arctic security. We will be bullied for our resources. Being unprepared is a national security threat, just like telecom, energy, health, and food, relying on foreign supply chains in foreign hands. 1/

Disruption of any of these systems puts us at risk. We learned that lesson during covid. Soft diplomacy won the day, but may not next time. Air defense is another thing we need to stop "farming out."
