Laredo comparison…we have been a little early with firsts (and last 32F). If we reach 100F on Friday, it would be about 1 month early. About 3 out of 10 years reach 100F by March 31.
Mexican Plateau Air, arriving at the surface is unique to south Texas. Elsewhere in the nation, it arrives as an elevated mixed layer. During the summer, the semipermanent subtropical high is mostly north of us, putting us in a flow from the gulf. Desert of southern CA/AZ has hotter summers.
