The brain isn't fully developed til mid to late 20s. Boy's brains develop slower than girls.
The amygdala regulates anxiety, aggression, fear conditioning, emotional memory, and social cognition.This is what teens/young people use until full brain development.

Chatting with one in the harbour the other day. Said he & a lot of his friends didn't know who they were really, or who they were supposed to be. Low wages, ltd prospects, no hope of owning or probably even renting a home. Too young to vote last time, now will vote Reform. Only ones who understand..

Or they just don’t reveal their perspective to you??! One colleague was horrified when I told them about a particularly hard core group. As they taught them as well and had no idea of their world view. I’m happy to go toe to toe with such views in a non preachy manner- but I’m not a “woke lefty”……

It's also complicated by wealth. I teach boys in the independent sector and they mostly are baffled and amused by Trump et al. They say they don't understand why anyone would vote for them.

The only outliers from my experience are those with Russian parents- even when those are wealthy parents who have fled Russia. Those boys just adore Farage and Trump.
