With a (sometimes hidden) disability I feel people underestimate the pressure society has put on us to reach certain milestones.
Grieving the time I have lost to my illness is both painful and liberating. Doing life slowly and letting go of where I feel should be is a constant journey

Yeesh, had a hell of a therapy session over being disabled and unable to reach "basic" milestones like learning to drive, moving out, etc & feeling "behind".

It's... sobering to realize how much this is steeped in ableism & that it's not a moral failing to have different milestones from ~the norm~
