Telling the story. I lived in AK for 35+ yrs & the Alaska in the late 70s wasn't the AK I left in 2013. Drunken poles, roadbeds that couldn't be stabilized, dying species that lost food sources or changes were too much. "Alaskans for global warming" stickers MIA. Not funny in AK. Telling the story
as an aside: +1 to them for using the boiling-frog metaphor while also pointing out that it's not scientifically accurate (real-life frogs do actually jump out of boiling water, even if you raise the temp slowly)
omg, thank you for the shoutout of our study! Glad that people find our results useful.

Isnβt there another difference here in that the left panel shows an ascending correlation and the second panel a descending correlation? Were you able to control for the effects of that?
That said, our additional experiment (reported in the Supplementary Information) might be interesting. We added a *trendline* to the left panel plots (to really show the trend to people) and found that binary plots (right) still amplified climate perception..
but i wld be interested in following up, and controlling for the potential confound you raised (there is research that shows people more readily detect decreasing trends compared to increasing trends, and so that might contribute to the effect)

Sorry, sounds like a great study though.
Also give people clear choices on how they benefit with sustainable energy and electric transportation.
