first time telling a doctor I'm autistic and not having them immediately say "no you're not" or "who diagnosed you??" or really
extra scary because I was *gasp* disclosing access needs (extra processing time during eye exam)
it's sad how shocked I am the doctor also was like "sure, of course"

Very sad that you don’t have it every time you say that you are autistic. I am very shocked.
dear every other optometrist who sighs impatiently while asking me which lens is better and I'm trying to figure it out --
I promise the sighing will not make my brain work faster
I can actually read paper books on good days
(there's a couple on my TBR pile that only come in hard copy)
Or if I'm reentering IIH hell
Dr: So, 2 then?
😞 Yes.
