You’re absolutely correct. The app did allow creators to say and post things- as long as the words were masked. Don’t forget comments were often marked as offensive, despite it being completely harmless.

words & certain words together have been censored on TT for years. NO, not even 2 years ago you could search the word Nazi. (rape, incest, murder)
I had a whole video taken down because of hashtag OBIWANKENOBI because of the word WANK.
