Thanks -- I didn't get to write too much about it in the text, but my unscientific tests show some really good alternatives from Vallejo and AK Interactive. CDA's colours are a great match but coverage may leave something to be desired.

Yeah I think I'm gonna get some of the Game Color too! It's easy to find locally. The yellow is mostly going to be used for a highlight/drybrush on dwarf beards, so I don't mind if it's not too much coverage, and I'll fiddle between the game color and the coat d'arms for base rims.

I'm also thinking I might just get some of the vallejo goblin green spray for movement trays, but using the pot paint in an airbrush would do the trick, too.

I haven't tried Duncan Rhodes' paints yet but they have a Goblinoid Green that I believe is extremely similar to the classic GG, as well. Just very slightly more white/pastel probably due to Ti White for opacity.

I love his TTC paints! His Goblinoid is only available in Wave 2 though, which hasn't launched in NA yet - I couldn't justify the cost of getting the full set through KS, so I've been eyeing it and a few others for when they hit over here.

I worked 3 years in an art supply store & 25 years as a commercial artist...artist paint companies are deeply reliant on larger paint color industries (like automotive).

There was a legendary deep but translucent golden orange called Qui

There was a Shiva Oil paint color called Arctic Blue, very popular with plein air painters, always out of stock.

I ran regular classes on 'Make Your Own Arctic Blue! (Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue, Raw Umber.)

Fun times.

The story I heard from Golden Acrylics reps, was that quin gold was used as a translucent midcoat in auto paint, to give a rich warm tone. I think Quin Burnt Orange still exists. You can see it in Mitsubishi Orange. The lighter amber version fell out of favor or was harder to source.
