Literally this. There are tons of characterizations I don't care for. Art styles or portrayals that aren't my favorite. I have tons of thoughts on the way people write trans characters in like, every fandom. I keep that for appropriate spaces and block and move on.

I don't care what people draw or write, I only expect them to tag their content properly so I don't have to see the stuff I know I won't like, y'know? I'm tired of looking up a character and seeing art of a ship I personally dislike because the author only tagged the characters and not the ship.

I know, but the two topics often end up related. People tend to get less upset by seeing content they don't want to see when they can filter it out. Naturally there's some people who go out of their way to be mean, but often it's just frustration from being unable to effectively sort through content

I can say with complete certainty as someone who posts and tags their art that that isn’t true. Properly tagging art is a separate issue. The times I’ve experienced this or seen someone insult fanfics/art is has always been art/fics that are tagged properly

if you have an idea for a really cool fic then write it!!
if you don't like someone else's fic, good for you! If you have constructive criticism, you may give it to the person IF THEY ARE OK WITH IT. Otherwise, be quiet.
