Grok (Twitter's AI) is not competitive on any leaderboards I have seen e.g. https://www.vellum.ai/llm-leaderboard. There are even some open source models that outclass it.
I fully understand why people have gone ex-X, but what has made BlueSky take off as opposed to those folks just going over to the more-established Threads?
To partially answer my own question, this suddenly feels like the Twitter of old. While I have used and generally liked Threads, I was seeing an obnoxious amount of engagement bait and not enough real-time commentary. Curious if others had the same impression.
Not a user of any Meta products, but a major complaint w/ Threads is it throttled news/politics, and until Bsky adoption scared the bejeezus out of Zuck, it had no chronological/only stuff I follow feed. Meta overindexed on algorithmic slop, so when Bsky offered OG Twitter energy, people ran to it.
Too bad this app has such a lousy algorithm. I’m seeing hardly anything related to my interests. And no matter how hard I try to train it, it doesn’t learn.
Just as the number can go up quickly, it can go down quickly, and the people who have joined recently are *most* in a position to move, seeing as they were willing to set up again recently.
Or they're holding out hope that he won't get enough traction and will decide to leave on his own. Which...maybe...but I doubt he's going to nuke the account even if he stops posting.
He got snagged by a blocklist as soon as he signed up on my end so I haven't seen anything he's posted. But yeah - he's got a well known shtick and it's totally fine to ban him based on that shtick. You don't actually have to wait which is what I've seen some say "he hasn't violated the ToS here"
Hardly surprising. Musk's "town square" is a better financed (for now) Truth Social which Cheeto Jesus will probably sell to him.
Last time I was on Twitter (I'll never call it X), I had the same feeling I get when I'm in a bad part of town and need to lock the car doors to keep from getting 'jacked
There’s been much made of the mass shift from X to Bluesky, & the reaction from the disruptors, abusers & far right has been telling. They know something we don’t admit: we, the progressives, feed them, & that is where the opportunity lies

And then he (Musk) can take that cash-wash it through Crypto and never pay US tax.
I’m trying to start a ‘Blue Economy Project’
1) Tax ‘data collection’ as a percentage of profits.
2) Destroy every aspect of the crypto business.
It’s a trading currency for thieves, human traffickers, grifters, and terrorists.
And it doesn’t change the basic facts:
personal data (harvested without compensation) is valuable…
and crypto is fundamental to monetizing crime

Why did he do that? To tell us to "go f*** ourselves" like he did to the twitter advertisers?😆
Social Media Misinformation Rip Tide ... no laws, no rules ...
We're here b/c of $billionaire funded by Saudi Prince (along with Zuckerberg's enablement) continues to lie to Americans
The man’s a genius!
Social networks change even IRL.
I get the 'we're afraid of being sued' argument but I'm not necessarily buying that as a real fear.
Someone likes him and wants him here.

1064% makes the network effects stick.
Bluesky is here to stay. And Twitter will likely continue to bleed.

But yeah I think this is the rapture and those left on X are in for a rough 7 years. Repent! ;-)
