I try and draw something I wouldn't normally draw and that sometimes brings me out of my funk because I have to look at it a different way

I am kind of chaotic I think…I don’t know if it really works but I do think to myself; “what’s more fun rn? Drawing or doing xyz” and usually I think “hm drawing” and then I draw >_< I also think “it’s cool if it looks ugly if you’re just having fun” and that helps me just get fun sketches out :)

Ah also I think to myself “yknow you can just not try that hard on this drawing” n that helps me too. I’ll have a podcast or tv show on in the BG and draw at snail speed. But usually after a few hours, I’m actually pretty content with how I spent my time. Even if I don’t want to share it with anyone

My blocks are usually when I’m frustrated with my technical skills. So I’m not sure if this was helpful 😅 idea-wise, I think it’s always fun to draw things I dream or fantasize about, whatever that is whenever I have that kind of block

Well, I am indeed frustrated with my technical skills. Too focused on making something clean and awesome rather than having fun.
Going back to dumb stuff like draw the squad could be a fun way to both practice and getting back into the fun.

I troll around on pinterest. Just looking at whatever, searching for something that interests me and just letting myself go down the rabbithole. Sometimes I find something I think would be fun to draw or an outfit I want to put on a character.

Honestly the best thing you can do is switch to a completely different hobby for awhile. Trying to work through burnout only makes the block worse. Sometimes you gotta work a different part of your brain for awhile. The brain is a muscle and if you keep trying to push through the over-exertion you

only prolong how much time it needs to recover. If you have other hobbies definitely pick them up, don't try and brute force your way through it. It sucks and it might take time, but it'll be worth it when you come back even stronger :3

Yeah... guess you're right. I just miss drawing for myself so much. I've been doing other stuff for so long that I'm tired of waiting. But each time I feel like drawing, I get in front of my canavas and...blank. so frustrating ><

I get it man, in college I burnt myself out so bad I didn't draw for YEARS. Sometimes you just gotta let yourself recover and when the inspiration strikes again it's like an explosion :3
