My great uncle died of TB at 25 in 1921 and my great grandfather died of TB at 44 in 1933, so even by then it was still killing a lot of people. So frustrating.

Yes, my mom’s oldest brother died of TB at 20, around 1930. The whole family had it. My aunt had to have part of a lung removed.
Her other brother was crippled by polio.
My dad’s baby sister died of diphtheria at age 5.
Find a family not affected by these diseases before WWII.

Another great grandfather died of typhoid fever in 1942… one of only TWO CASES resulting in death that year according to the state of Washington. Trying to explain how bad it was and why we never want to go backwards gets tiring.

My 4th great grandfather had 11 kids. 3 I can't find info for. The 8 others had 37 children all together. 24 of those children died very youn (most didn't make it to 2). It was a horrifying and very depressing day when I did this research. Vaccines work. Period.

Ask them to go to a graveyard and notice the lifespans on headstones from before the 1960 (I think), and also how many gravestones are for children. Then ask them to compare those to the lifespans reflected on headstones after the 60’s.

That was the year my maternal grandfather was born. He died in February of 1994. No doubt the vaccines helped. Although,he once said that the only disease affecting our family was longevity.
