If anything the middle triangle makes the most sense and the left makes the least sense lol, there's 12 different versions of the Day, so the Day should be nested in the Month for specificity, like how the middle triangle ALSO nests the Month within the Year for the same reason
I love how it is on "The Americans" when the Month Day, Year format was adopted from the British, just like how we call it Soccer. Americans do it because of the British... We just continue to believe in British standards we were taught than British people believe in themselves.

I dont defend much about America but the date format makes sense to me. Months go up to 12. Days go up to 31. Working from lowest number to highest, month, day, year makes perfect sense.
The first 2 I can see arguments for easily. In the present you tend to use days for planning and remembering recent things. And in the future (and especially record keeping) you look for years first. Middle, start, end is a weird order for most things
