"these are new" yeah, now that you mention it ... I looked back and they appeared when ghost was tongue-deep in his bullet hole. At first it looked like cracks in porcelain, too. An effect of emotion or of the silver or of Johnny's blood?
he's had these cracks before actually - when he first turned into a wraith. they're a sign he's using his powers a bit too much/something's making him really lose control.
They were also the last of the whispies to disappear when he calmed down, so that's pretty interesting, that they have more staying power than any of his other, like, markings I guess. Wonder what that could be about?
