Game Pass is still growing. The recent earnings call outlined an increase in content and services revenue again and a 30% increase in subscribers for Game Pass PC. 30% from third party sales on Xbox consoles is a drop in the hat compared to GP revenues and their IP’s being on other platforms.
And at the same time, their gaming revenue decline. There’s a reason why companies like Apple or Google generate more revenue than many publishers, even though they don’t develop games. If people prefer to buy GTA VI or get v-bucks on PS, Xbox will loose money.
Yet they were the #1 publisher in the world last month. An estimated $465 million spent on Xbox titles last month. With roughly 64% of that being on PS4 and PS5. This is going to become a lot more common with them releasing game across multiple platforms. They’re gonna laugh all the way to the bank.
