Good on you and I’m sorry it’s hard. I don’t mask all the time, but if I feel a bit under the weather I do, as I’m trying not to be a spreader of disease. The global pandemic should have least have taught all of us about that!

Been masking since March 20, wasn't disabled back then, i am now so still masking. I am not so strong i just don't care what is said, i was protecting those i love and now i protect myself. Harassment isn't really a thing here where i live which makes it easier of course.

Here in Australia I haven’t been verbally assaulted for wearing a mask in more than a year. Latest surprise was a young, unmasked shop assistant wanting to know why I was wearing one - for prevention or was I sick? I asked “Does it matter?” 1/2

I'm down under as well, i have had the odd question and yes one shop assistant covering her mouth (as if that will help). Most have been relaxed, some accommodating. In the end i don't really care so don't notice much. Overseas i had some young adult fake a cough, i put that down to their ignorance.

Boggles the mind... So, you won't mask but you're worried I might make you sick? We had the same thing in a grocery store. 19ish yr old: "Why you maskin'? Covid been done, already, right?"
My wife said, "I'm asthmatic". A quick "oh, right.." then, to me "and you just do it cause of her?" 🙄

Yes the assumption is "if masked must be ill" but as i said i don't care and often don't notice. Some friends and family are just a little more distant due to my stance, but i'm health compromised, so it is the fight of my life "literally" & their thoughts don't interest me much.

They covered their mouth with their elbow and said something I couldn’t make out… I said I wasn’t ill and they relaxed. Terrible if they had concerns but were made to feel so uncomfortable by others that they chose not to mask. :-( 2/2
