I’ve seen quite a few similar complaints this year, often related to the VS Code `useVsCodeWatcher` setting (recently renamed to `watchOptions`), so you might not see many in the TypeScript repo.

Here’s a helpful write-up: https://github.com/microsoft/TypeScript/issues/51763#issuecomment-2282329357 It might have been fixed since, but I’m not sure.

all things considered, it gives me the best experience for what I build, but I still wish it didn't come with workflow-breaking tradeoffs that only I seem to care about
