This is exactly the ballgame. He overextends, there is an immediate haunt/outcry/etc, imminent legal challenges occur, meanwhile he’s delivering a message and still achieving the disruption he wants, cases go to court: 1) he loses: damage already done, 2) he wins: he’s extended his executive power

100% agree. MitchM worked since Obama's terms to reshape the judiciary and the Supreme Court has already demonstrated that it defers to the executive branch. The Project 2025 guys didn't care about being clear or precise about the EOs b/c opposition leads to lawsuits and that's where they want this.

Good story, but please note in stories more about the time element. When can courts act? When are courts likely to act? Can a contested exec order stand until thrown out, or can courts stay the order until it is proven to be constitutional? Trump plays the clock. The media can't ignore it.
