Money doesn't bring happiness. At least after you achieve stability. They still have that hole in their heart that will never be filled. All they know is how to throw money at problems until they go away. They lack everything else that creates happiness. They will never be happy, and never know why.

I for the life of me can't understand why we need to pay someone a stupidly money salary to manage a company they're a significant owner of. If you're not motivated to look after something you're the owner of, why would a salary motivate you?

I reckon it’s a kind of mental illness that drives people to crave that much wealth. And once they’re rich, the illness doesn’t go, ‘Yay! You made it!’ and disappear. Instead, it has now gained insane power to avoid treatment - “Don’t see a therapist, bro, just one more yacht and we’ll feel ok!’

If I had a billion dollars, I'd buy out student loan debts, pay off healthcare debts, and fund tuitions for children who couldn't go to university otherwise. And I'd set up a permanent investment fund to continue paying out for those things. I can't imagine needing more for myself than 5 million.
