What's super irritating is when most Canadian TikTok political commentators talk about BC politics like it's got some connection to federal without any context to anything that's happened prior. The same goes with any other issue in BC. BC is mostly invisble on TikTok.

Yes it’s not an informed viewpoint. But again, it’s on people from BC to make their own podcasts. It’s not a moneymaking endeavour for any of the people taking this on here.

In the US there many top quality podcasts not linked to legacy media with access to journalists and academics etc. They provide vital alternative viewpoints, get advertisers and make $. In Canada we don’t have that depth of field & most podcasts are legacy media or done by amateurs doing their best.

I think this lack of alternative info sources poses a grave danger to our democracy and way of life in Canada, given our MSM is mostly US owned and our formerly wonderful CBC is opting for news without context and covers economics, sports and the political horse race ad nauseum but not democracy.
