This really reminds me of a certain day 10 years ago that started with a russian aligned prime minister not wanting to join the EU and ended with him fleeing to russia.
Stand strong Georgia💪❤️
Georgia's president (after failed election) acts like any other dictator. Lies and doesn't care that it is obvious. He has power only as long as his institutions can hold his egg shell position from cracking.
Well done @bbcstever.bsky.social and the team! 🌷
Ask him how they will conduct an investigation when the police don't wear their names or badge numbers, and by ordering the removal of identification, does that not invite misconduct?
There are definitely some groups that get support from Turkey. Some, mainly Kurdish, groups get support from the US. I'm sure there's a lot of groups that get support from various Arab countries as well, a large part of the conflict runs as Sunni vs Shia.
I fully concur.. however I fail to predict a "solution".. no clear lines of religious division and definitive geographic facts @ access to the sea limiting possible peaceful outcomes...
Which ones? There's a whole lot of very different groupings that the regime calls "rebels". I won't even pretend to understand what's going on in Syria, but I know that much.
Nothing in Syria is that simple. There's a lot more than two sides fighting. Sometimes they have common interests, sometimes they get along fine, sometimes they fight each other, sometimes they switch sides.

Utterly chilling nevertheless.
And an indication of the propaganda and crackdowns to come.
