Russian economy will soon collapse. Ukraine continues to degrade oil facilities. Their economy is smaller than Italy's and the kleptocrats are pocketing most of that. Without oil he cannot continue. Europe must give as many long range weapons as possible and free up their use

This is a very interesting insight into Russian thinking, which seems strangely disconnected from the economic plight that Russia is in. But it is clear from one of the pieces that Russia thinks missiles will be the answer to all its problems.

Agree on reconfiguration, but perhaps not in the form the Russians hope.The complacency of last 30 years and dependency on US may be at an end resulting in stronger more confident Europe freed from need to constantly seek US approval for everything it does. Europe together is stronger than Russia!

This feels inevitable. Let’s fire the starting pistol and we really will have it all over by Christmas - granddad and dad got it wrong in their time. It’ll mean roast rat served in a cave on the 25th, but all this fannying around is becoming irritating.
