3. I know the gig is new, but the acting is kind of all over the place at the moment. Some great, consistent performances and some…other performances.

4. The story writing is solid, but the dialogue is stiff. There’s a difference between dialogue and writing; currently all we have is writing.

Agreed on the dialogue - a lot of it is coming across as too much being pulled directly from the character bibles and not being refined or reworked for how people actually talk to each other.

Some of it is the actors needing to settle into their roles and the directors trusting them to freestyle a little bit. Most of it is the clunky dialogue, though.

5. The Duprees are fantastic. It’s a little odd that there’s only one male child in the whole family (Martin), but obviously that can and will change (it’s a soap, after all).

6. I hope some of the side characters can coalesce into another possibly rival family. I also hope some of them just leave.

7. Martin is foine, but that couple has zeeeeero chemistry so far. They interact like roommates, not husbands.

8. I do not understand the writing or performance choices for Hayley. I cannot believe Bill would leave a gorgeous spitfire like Dani for someone half her age (and height).

9. Speaking of Hayley, we learned on Friday that her father bailed before she was born. I suspect Nicole & Dani are getting a new sister.

10. Speaking of new sisters, Martin & Kat better make room, too…for Eva. (Again, why no boy babies?)

12. I assume we are going to find out why Cady’s character is Dani’s BFF. And how it’s possible that Dani, who barely looks 30, was married to Bill for…”30 years”? That math ain’t mathin’.

13. Nicole’s husband is boring. So is Not Kristen Chenowith’s husband. So is Naomi’s husband. (I see a trend.)

I wonder if they were initially looking for a late 40s actress for Dani and then KM blew them away or something and they never changed the age, because yeah ... it's not sitting right for me. Also, having her have multiple scenes with Not Kristen Chenowith all week led me to think *they* were BFFs.😬

14. More than half the cast is ripe for recasting. Sorry, but it’s true. The only safe ones in my book are the majority of the Duprees, Les, Eva, Mona, Bill, Caroline, Andre (but he needs to stop whispering his lines) and NKC.
