Suburbs were explicitly built to isolate, what are you talking about? The whole design of suburbs was create spaces away from people of color where those with a modicum of privilege could flee to.

Condescend much? I agree with you, but what I’m saying is that suburbs also prevent ppl from socializing as much. Farther from neighbors, not as many socialization activities, the end of forced social activities like church (good or bad, don’t care how you look at it). More screens, less real life.
I suggest this channel! Both are true! Originally suburbs were for getting away from the city, but we had street calls to connect us, and people still connected at family events and picnics. It is not normal for families to be spread across the state and country.
The only time I see both of my brothers is if an immediate family member has died. That is not normal or right. We demonize people who "live in their mom's basement" when multi-generational homes have been the norm for millennia.
Many social scientists have been sounding the alarm about declining church attendance not because of the downfall of religion but because humans are social creatures that need community. They need to see each other, est food, and help each other. They will find religion one way or another.
Your parents watching FOX News *religiously* is no coincidence. We build tribes where we need them. So yeah, get your buddies into a union, a Rotary club, a church - just see each other and do things together. For me, it is Dungeons & Dragons. Thank you and your Rotary peeps for all you do btw!
