I’ve been playing them recently 2 x 20 morboyz have done some work. But our survivability still sucks a bit 6+ 6+ is painful. I’m a little scared to take them to a big event and am considering just taking trolls and having an easy life.

Hence 'might' and 'maybe'. In a lot of lists, an extra 200 points isn't getting you more hammer, but there are armies who'd just invest in upgrading one, I guess. The hope is that upgraded hammer might just bog down in someone else's shiny new screen.
