I promised my friends I’d wait and we would all go see Sinners next weekend and it’s honestly killing me😩 Thrilled people are supporting the movie though👍🏾
Well deserved! The BF and I saw an IMAX matinee in Boston to a pretty well packed house. Everyone is fantastic in this, and I mean EVERYONE. But Wunmi Mosaku? Wow. Just wow.
I just saw it. It was amazing! The scene with the past, present, and future ancestors playing music hit hard, reminding me of the scene in Reservation Dogs. An Oscar is coming.
Delroy is definitely the Moment, the entire cast was great!!
Fuck whatever a hater has to say, the movie was bomb and I'm going again to see it tonight
I don’t care how much anyone raves about this movie, I will not support it. Abstain from all appearance of evil. We all have to deal with evil spirits in this world and I refuse to be entertained by any variation. I want to support Black people, but 😢 on this I must decline.
Saw it last nite. Michael B Jordan & cast are great. The music, cinematography, the way it incorporates very specific history & culture while propelling an original story forward is phenomenal. It’s dark, funny, sexy. Go see it.
I’m both Irish-American and Black from Louisiana and NC, it was incredible seeing Delta blues and Irish folk. Many of my ancestors were white-passing, and you can see family reunion pictures of people of all shades. I’m so happy to see this representation of culture beyond slavery and civil rights.
So many of these biopics on Black history have static, history book qualities to them. The film doesn’t shy away from the oppression and brutalization in history, but it displays 1930s Delta culture in a dynamic way.
Yes! I think the major difference is having a young Black director who has fresh vision & wasn’t trying to make torture porn or a costume drama. I LOVED that scene that melded the past, present & future of African American music, from African roots to hip hop. It’s was visceral & exhilarating.

I will be adding to the Sinners bottom line though
