When I was little, I was lucky enough to shake his had when he came through my town. I'll never forget that thrill, or the feeling of the sandpaper texture of his gloves.

It is something I will never forget as long as I'm alive. Whenever I drive home to Ottawa for a visit from Manitoba, I stop just outside Thunderbay to his memorial and pay my respects.
